I lost my last job due to outsourcing. I know what it feels like.
That's unfortunate, but not sure what that has to do with people whining about something they won't do themselves.

Toys R' Us?
I find it kind of embarrassing that Apple is choosing this as an outlet.
This will become the must have kid present this year. What's the matter? Not feeling so elitist anymore? It's about an iPad in every pot.

Top Secret stuff? You mean like a movie download service? Or a Front Row PVR? iPhone software?
I find it interesting that he didn't say anything about Front Row and how it would be improved. He didn't say anything about iChat and how it might evolve into a phone service with an integrated iPod/iPhone. In fact, everything they did show are pretty much improvements to existing technologies, except Time Machine (way cool). They didn't add HD-DVD/Blueray to the Mac Pros. I guess what I'm getting at are things that didn't show up are most likely software technologies that have an accompaning hardware device to go with it, and since those products aren't ready they can't spill the beans just yet.
Mac World in January is going to be amazing!

In addition to my promise to run around naked and post the video to the Internet if iMac gets Conroe, I will do the same if they introduce a phone at WWDC.
Not happening.I actually remember you mentioning that. I should have screen capped that post.

Can we get the new ones with the school promotion?
I don't think so because if you add a computer to the cart, it says "Get a free nano.. blahblahblah" and it links to a page with the old nano model but a lower price. The pdf mail-in-rebate has also been updated with two columns, one with the old prices (ordered before sept 12) and one with the new prices (ordered after sept 12) but always with the old model.

Interesting...perhaps this developers whining got somebody's attention at Apple, 3.03 is available on App Store... very short list of enhancements... "Bug Fixes" and "Japanese/Chinese Localization".

I think it's a computer that will fit inside your home and possibly carry around with you (There's something in the Air), that can use your modem's telephone line to connect to the WWW and display text and graphics.
So an iPhone that is slightly more powerful and uses wireless instead of a modem... :p

I am one of the folks who say that. I am not a fan of the band or group. It might mean I don't like what they might stand for, or their individual ideas so I don't buy every thing they do or did. It usually means that I don't like the sound or style of the bulk of their catalog. An example would be not liking a particular genre of music but finding one song I enjoy out of that genre. I don't like country music as a type but I have a few songs in my library that are country tunes. But I might put all that aside and enjoy one or two songs from an artist that I don't particularly like. I have had artists that I liked so much I bought everything they did only to later look back and say wha??? Why did I do that?
You don't have to love the Beatles music. I do, and billions of other people do, but you don't.
But, you do have to recognize that without them, popular music would be an entirely different game right now. People can't remember a time when rock/pop was only ONE type of popular music. The Beatles made it THE type of music, and virtually everything that has come since is a direct result of that change; both musically, and in spirit, in terms of the artistic freedom and experimentation that the Beatles encouraged.
This is not to mention the enormous influence the Beatles had on the recording process itself; the technical advances that went down at Abbey Road in the 60's were mindboggling, and many have become standard studio practice.
So no, you don't have to love the music. But you must grant that without the Beatles, most of the music you DO love would be a whole lot different.

The important part of all this is we'll be able to do the .x updates without connecting our devices to iTunes, even if it means using WiFi.
I'm guessing iOS 5 will offer patches, instead of the full OS, letting users sync on their carrier's network. It's true this update method is more dangerous, but I have a feeling Apple is working on a safe way to do this.

Anyone knows if the mac pro allows us to upgrade to PCI graphics cards bought from retail stores? Will there be any driver issues? Do graphics card vendors include Mac drivers on their installation disc? Never seen one that does though..

Uh, isn't the world in 3D? I mean, we do see in three dimensions, correct? Is this a clever way of saying you are blind?
No, more a way of saying that a little screen, or any screen, lives IN a 3D world. The best explanation I've ever read I found on Roger Ebert's site. It's worth a read:

I fail to see how it is your business what car they drive whether it gets 95 mpg or 2 mpg and whether they have 7,000 kids or none.
Get over yourself.
If we applied your logic to every situation in the world, oh what a place it would be.

Is it just me or does anybody else think that the missing album artwork looks a little bad. It doesn't look like the same stuff you get when you buy a song from the music store.

Apple introduced the Mac Pro (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2006/08/20060807144713.shtml) at WWDC today. A few photos and videos of the new machine have been circulating:
* Photos inside the Mac Pro (http://www.powermax.com/articles_reviews/article.php?id=32) - PowerMax
* Hands on (video) (http://reviews.cnet.com/Apple_Mac_Pro/4660-3118_7-6625612.html?tag=feed?=rss&subj=video) - CNet

* More Photos (http://www.macobserver.com/article/2006/08/07.19.shtml) - MacObserver
Apple also gives its developers some Apple-branded items for attending:
* Apple gear given out at WWDC (photos) (http://theappleblog.com/2006/08/07/wwdc-swag/) - TheAppleBlog
Readers are reminded that despite detailing many features of the upcoming Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, Steve Jobs opened his presentation (http://biz.yahoo.com/bizj/060807/1327582.html?.v=1) by stating "There's some top secret features we're going to keep a little close to the vest."
Other tidbits from WWDC:
* XCode 2.4 was released today.
* An unconfirmed forum post claims (http://forums.macnn.com/showthread.php?t=304580) that the Mac Pro CPUs are swappable.
* Leopard Server Sneak Peak (http://www.apple.com/server/macosx/leopard/simplesetup.html) with iCal Server, Wiki Server, Spotlight Server and Podcast Producer.
Finally, higher quality versions of the promotional screenshots from Leopard have been posted to our guides page (http://guides.macrumors.com/Leopard).

Anyone else think they'll probably rename the iPod touch to simply "iPod"? I think it makes sense, considering almost all of their products feature multi-touch technology at this point.
They won't. You wouldn't know if people talked about iPods in general or iPod touches.

Yeah...I'm already dowloading latest version of Limewire and BitTorrent only for that..:D

well considering the CFO of verizon said the unlimited data plans were not a long term solution, yeah it's pretty feasible to think that they won't keep it around forever.

So...are you on VZW? Do you actually have a care in this matter, or is it just another way to rant on others?
AT&T still has people on $30 unlimited because they are grandfathered in. So will VZW, if they actually change the plans.
